Midnight Juggernauts release their eagerly awaited debut album Dystopia in stores August 4. Melbourne psychedelic folk / alt country 5 piece Dust launches its album Songs on Friday 17 August at the East Brunswick Club supported by Orb Weavers and Khancoban. Duckdive launches its debut album Stories For Another Day in Melbourne on Friday July 27 at the Northcote Social Club with supports The Triangles and Skipping Girl Vinegar. The band began back in 2003 as an acoustic duo, based around the work of Melbourne singer / songwriter Marisa Brown, and has since evolved into an eight piece band. To be released on Laughing Outlaw Records, the long player was recorded at the band's own studio, mixed by Nick Larkins, and mastered by Martin Pullan at Edensound Studios.

Melbourne's Winterfest returns for its sixth event on Saturday August 18 with performances from Light Music Club, Popolice and Grand Salvo at Carni, 60 High St, South Preston. Birds of Tokyo after selling out out their first intimate and acoustic show on Sunday 5 August at the Fly By Night, have announced a second and final acoustic show on Monday 6 August. These shows are a special treat for WA fans only, which sees the band performing in stripped back acoustic mode with a piano. Mach Pelican has decided to call it a day and will be doing a final tour of Australia and Japan. The band began back in 1996 when all three members moved from Japan to Perth to study English. Since then the band has moved to Melbourne, released three studio albums and clocked up 790 shows in 11 years. They are calling it a day due to personal reasons as well as some immigration issues. Falls Festival organisers have announced tickets for this year's events in Lorne and Marion Bay go on sale September 10.
