Wednesday, 30th

The Paper Scissors play a handful of east coast tour dates throughout June and early July. The tour is in support of the new single Yamanote Line - taken from the band's forthcoming album - which features three previously unreleased tracks and will available at the shows. Further details »

The Roys launch their CD single Body Double at The Tote Hotel, Melbourne on Saturday June 2. The single is the second to be lifted from the band's forthcoming album Holus Bolus due for release later this year.

Saturday, 26th

Zulya and the Children of the Underground launches her new album 3 Nights in Sydney and Melbourne this June: Saturday June 9 @ The Toff, Melbourne; Saturday June 23 @ The Basement, Sydney. The album is out now on Unstable Ape Records, which recently partnered with Remote Control.

Radio Birdman, before heading to the US in June, plays two shows in Sydney and Newcastle in mid-June. The US tour is just the second ever for the band and comes just nine months after the band's US debut. Following these overseas dates the band returns to home shores for a full national tour in September / October. Further details »

Thursday, 17th

Charge Group has just finished recording its debut mini-album Escaping Mankind with Wayne Connolly. With violinist Jason Tampake soon to head over to the UK with Josh Pyke, the band plays its last show for a while on Thursday May 24 at the Hopetoun, Sydney with The Instant and Seaworthy.

Splendour In The Grass has completely sold out in just five hours, after tickets went on sale Monday. This year saw 31% of punters purchase the new green ticket to ensure their travel emissions and festival experience is completely neutralised. Macromantics heads out on the road this winter with a national tour kicking off late June in Geelong and continuing through out July. Further details »

The Valentinos have abandoned their moniker due to legal proceedings from 50s American soul artist Bobby Womack and the Valentinos. Whilst the group hasn't decided on a new name they will play two final shows as The Valentinos in Sydney on Friday May 18 at the Annandale Hotel, and in Melbourne on Saturday May 19 at Click Click.

Darren Hanlon and his band - made up of Bree van Reyk (drums), Simon Woolridge (bass) and Cory Grey (keyboards and trumpet) - head out on the road this June for a national tour dubbed the Touching Elbows tour. Darren's third album Fingertips and Mountaintops is out now. Further details »

Tuesday, 8th

Instrumental group Laura returns to Sydney this May for its first headline show of 2007. The band performs Thursday May 17 at the Annandale Hotel with special guests Further and Red Ghost.

Expatriate has released its debut long player In The Midst Of This on Dew Process. In support of the release the band heads out on a national tour, kicking off with a spot on the Pauhaus festival in early June, continuing through out July, and punctuated with appearance at Splendour In The Grass in early August. Peabody play one last headline show on Saturday May 19 at Sandringham Hotel, Newtown before heading into the studio to commence recording their third album. This will be the first time the band plays the Sando since the venue's heyday of the late 90's. Special guests on the night will be The Woods Themselves and Errol J.M.

Wednesday, 2nd

Batrider return to Sydney for a special one off show Thursday May 10 at the Hopetoun Hotel with special guests Skullsquadron, Yes Nukes! And Say Cheese & Die. The band is getting set to release its first full length album in the next two months and will be previewing some of the tracks from that. Available at the show will be the very limited EP Pink Guitars Yellow Stars – an acoustic release of both new and familiar songs recorded in Adelaide. Dappled Cities Fly and Red Riders team up this June for an east coast co-headline tour. The tour will see the headline act be decided at the start of each show by the toss of a coin on stage. Further details »
