Thursday, 27th

Blueking Brown cap off a huge year with a New Years Eve performance at the Rhythm And Vines festival in New Zealand. Following a short run of dates in NZ, including the Jambalaya festival, the band returns home for more studio work before heading out on the road as part of the Big Day Out, followed by a national tour during January and February, and supporting Santana on his national tour of Australia and New Zealand in February and March.

The Presets have released the new single My People, which is the first taste of the band's forthcoming second album due out April 27. The single is accompanied by remixes by D.I.M, Kris Menace and Mouse On Mars and is available digitally or as 12" vinyl. In the lead up to the album's release, the duo plays a run of east coast dates during late February / early March as part of the St Jeromes Laneway Festival, followed by a UK tour in March. Saturday, 22nd

Midnight Juggernauts play a run of headline dates in March 2008 in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane before heading overseas for extensive touring in 2008. It has been a big year for the band with the debut album Dystopia, international tours with Justice and Digitalism, and most recently winning the Sticky Carpet's Best New Artist category as part of The Age EG Awards. Van She, Lost Valentinos, teenagersintokyo, Cassette Kids, and 123 Amazing play Sydney's Oxford Art Factory this New Year's Eve. Going from 6pm to 6am the night will also feature DJ sets from Bag Raiders, Knife Machine, Kato, Spruce Lee, Disco Punx djs and Ash Le Rouge, with the gallery bar hosted by Health Club. Friday, 14th

Young & Restless have taken out Triple J's inaugural Unearthed J Award. The award is given to an Unearthed artist who has demonstrated the most musical growth and shows the greatest potential to make a contribution to the Australian music industry. The award comes hot on heels of the band winning the Qantas Spirit Of Youth award (SOYA) in the music category just two weeks prior.

Brisbane outfit The Neurotransmitters has releases its debut self-titled EP, which was recorded with Bryce Moorhead at Zero Interference Studios. 2008 will see the band return with episodes two and three from its sessions at Zero Interference Studios, with the band set to release a second EP, before unveiling a yet-to-be-titled debut album.

Unpaid Debt is calling a day after eight years and five releases. The band will play its final show on Saturday the February 2, 2008 at the Annandale Hotel in Sydney with supports The Disables (QLD), Epic Flagon (ACT), and Reason Strikes. Tickets to the final show are on sale now from the venue.

Dardanelles head out on a whirlwind tour this December supporting Toronto outfit Crystal Castles who tour Australia for the first time, playing Sydney and Melbourne. Further details »

Laura Imbruglia, after a stint in Europe this year, will be jetting off yet again in February 2008 to play shows in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
