Wednesday, 28th

Lior is currently on the road in support of his new single Heal Me. The video to said single, was directed by young director Natasha Pincus. The single is a taste of his forthcoming new album Corner of an Endless Road due for release independently on February 9, 2008 Further details »

I Don't Want Anything For Christmas a new compilation put together by Traffic Sounds is launched in Melbourne on Saturday December 8 with performances from Aleks and the Ramps, El Mopa, Single Twin (Marcus Teague from Deloris) and Matt McBeath - all of whom appear on the compilation. The compilation also features tracks from Kid Cornered, afxjim, Tugboat, The Woods Themselves, A Gold Star Secret, and Joseph Leonard.

Monday, 26th

Young & Restless has won the music category of this year's Qantas Spirit Of Youth Awards (SOYA). As part of the win the band is rewarded with $10,000 in cash, flights and a mentorship with producer Nick Launay. The band has also been nominated for an Unearthed J Award for its self-titled debut album released in July.

Intercooler head out on the road this January with Chicago two piece Local H and Melbourne outfit Cockfight Shootout. The band recently returned from the US where they performed as part of CMJ and were invited by influential radio DJ and tastemaker Nic Harcourt to perform on his Morning Becomes Eclectic program on KCRW Los Angeles. Wednesday, 21st

The redsunband return with the new EP Like An Arrow, which is released in stores November 24. The title track is lifted from the band's forthcoming second album The Shiralee. The second round of acts for the 2008's Big Day Out festival have been announced. Tuesday, 20th

Warm Guns - featuring Kellie Lloyd from Screamfeeder - head to Melbourne for two special shows to launch their eponymous debut album. The band plays Thursday November 29 at Pony with the Dead South and Girls and Adam; and Friday November 30 (official album launch) at Cobra Bar with Midnight Woolf and Screwtop Detonators. Saturday, 17th

After moving abroad, Devastations return home to play their first dates in Australia in two years. The band's first show will be at the Meredith Music Festival in December followed by shows in Sydney and Melbourne. Muscles returns to home shores this November and December to launch his debut album Guns Babes Lemonade. These shows cap off a year that has seen four international tours including the USA and Canada, the UK, Italy, France and Japan. Golden Plains returns in March 2008 at at the Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre, with the first round of acts to be announced are The Vines, Bang Gand DJs, British India, The Bamboos, The Scientists Of Modern Music, Jane Badler and Sir, Pikelet, Kamikaze Trio; plus internationals Ween, Sharon Jones and The Dap Kings, Iron And Wine, The Dirtbombs, Beirut, Optimo, Buffalo Tom, Crookers, South Rakkas Crew, Jay Reatard, The Sea And Cake, plus more artists to be announced. Carpathian has just completed recording two brand new tracks for a new 7" EP [released]Wrecked[/released] to be released this December on Resist Records. The vinyl release will be limited to 500 copies, with a digital download available via iTunes.

Art Disco #1 is a two-room, multi-artform, multi-genre show happening as part of WA's ARTRAGE Festival 2007 on Saturday November 24 at The Bakery, Northbridge. Wednesday, 14th

Ghosts of Television launch their new single City of Painless Childbirth in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra this November. The single is the first from the band's forthcoming debut EP Furthest Village From the Sun, set for release in early 2008, and recorded and produced by Burke Reid of Gerling at Big Jesus Burger Studios in Sydney. The Ooga Boogas launch their single The Octopus is Back on Friday November 16 at Bar Open, Melbourne with supports The Exotics and The Frowning Clouds. The single is released on the band's inhouse label, Aarght! Records, and features the B-side "Diggin' a Hole". Thursday, 8th

The Golden Plains Festival returns for its second year in 2008 at the Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre during the March 8 - 10 long weekend. The first act to be announced is US band Ween, who for many years were rumoured to play at sibling festival, the Meredith Music Festival. Wednesday, 7th

Richard In Your Mind releases its debut album The Future Prehistoric in stores December 1 through Broken Stone Records/Shock. The twelve track album comes with a 16 page booklet with artwork by Katherine Brickman of Greedy Hen. The band recorded the long player at their home studio, and mixed it at Big Jesus Burger Studios with Simon Berkleman and Chris Townend.

Friday, 2nd

The Sand Pebbles unveil their new drummer, Cliff Booth (ex-Harem Scarem) this Saturday November 3 at Palookaville, 416 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy. Entry is free and support will be Light Music Club. Past drummers for The Sand Pebbles include Piet Collins and Clare Moore.

Plug-In City launches its debut self-titled EP in its home town of Melbourne on Saturday November 10 at Miss Libertines, and in Sydney on Sunday December 2 at The Hopetoun Hotel. Don't Look Back the classic album series, conceived in the UK as an offshoot of All Tomorrow's Parties, comes to Australia for the first time this summer. The Australian premiere season, kicking off mid-January 2008, sees Died Pretty performing it's 1991 album 'Doughboy Boy'; Ed Kuepper performing 'Honey Steels Gold' released in 1992; and The Scientists performing their 1983 six track EP 'Blood Red River'. Meredith Music Festival organisers have announced the second round of acts for this year's sold out festival. Joining the bill are the Hoodoo Gurus, Sarah Blasko, Smallgoods, The Devastations, Combo La Revelacion, Paris Wells and Thief; plus internationals Dr Dog, King Brothers, Crystal Castles, with more to come.

Purple Sneakers take their DJ show onto the road this November and December in support of their debut compilation Mixtape of Indie Joy available exclusively on iTunes from November 20.
