Wednesday, 31st

Augie March, after spending a good part of the year touring North America three times, return home for two special Christmas shows in Melbourne on Thursday 20 and Friday 21 December at The Hi-Fi Bar and Ballroom. These are the band's only headline shows in Melbourne for at least a year, as they will soon be back to the US and then into the studio to record their fourth long-player. Centipede release the new single Happy Hull Breach on iTunes November 6 through RiSH Digital. The single is the first taste of the band's forthcoming second album Blacklister, the follow up to the 2004 debut. The band launches the single on Thursday November 22 at The Hopetoun Hotel, Surry Hills with supports Underlapper and Fuzu.

Sunday, 28th

Damn Arms release their debut album The Live Artex in stores November 3 via Timberyard Records. The long player was produced by Nick Littlemore of Pnau, and mixed by Kevin Shirley. Wednesday, 24th

Muscles has released his debut album Guns Babes Lemonade on Modular Recordings. Late October sees him touring the US and Canada, followed by an Australian tour in November.

The sold out Pyramid Rock festival at Victoria's Phillip Island over several days this New Year's Eve has announced the final round of acts. Monday, 22nd

Dappled Cities Fly are set to return from New York City this December and their first Sydney show will be Purple Sneaker's New Years party at Manning House, Sydney Uni. The band will be joined by Young & Restless, The Tongue, The Holidays, Wons Phreely, S.Y.L.K, plus PhDJ and the Purple Sneakers DJs. Tickets go on sale Wednesday October 31.

Saturday, 20th

To round off the year Deloris perform two shows with its expanded 5-piece line-up: Saturday October 20 @ The Hopetoun Hotel, Sydney w/ Jamie Hutchings (Bluebottle Kiss), Captain Nemo, Line Drawings; Friday November 16 @ Northcote Social Club, Melbourne w/ special guests. January sees the band supporting US outfit The National.

Thursday, 18th

Wednesday, 17th

Wons Phreely follows up his debut EP with the new single Everything Fits available now exclusively on iTunes through Boundary Sounds. The single is taken from his forthcoming debut album The Whole World. You’re Young. Whatever. due out early 2008. Institut Polaire's debut EP The Fauna and The Flora is out now on Popfrenzy Records. Formed as a three piece in 2004 by an American ex-pat, the Perth based band has since grown from a three piece into an ensemble featuring between 7 and 9 members. An EP tour is forthcoming.

Architecture In Helsinki, following on from a two month tour of the Europe, head to the US and Canada this October in support of the album Places Like This. In other news the the track 'Hold Music' is to be released as a digital and vinyl single in the UK and will feature a remix by Max Tundra. Late November sees the band return to home shores for a run of dates.

The Australian Music Prize returns for its third consecutive year to once again, encourage, reward and promote Australian music of excellence. The Porkers celebrate their 20th birthday this year by releasing a brand new album This is The Porkers November 3 on Sound System Records, and embarking on an extensive east coast tour. The recording features guest appearances by - Angelo Moore from Fishbone, Tara Doyle from Euphonic, and Tim Kent from Los Capitanes. Further is set to release its third album, Tactics, in February 2008 on Chatterbox Records. The first single is the title track available now as a digital download from iTunes. The long player was recorded in Melbourne at Headgap Studios with Neil Thomason.

Tuesday, 16th

November 3 sees the release of the deluxe double-disc reissues of the first two albums by 80s outfit The Hitmen, which featured members of Radio Birdman and The Hoodoo Gurus. Each album will be accompanied by a massive booklet, and will be expanded to include about 45 tracks, featuring previously unheard demos and live material. The Time Of The Assassins launches its debut album Awake In Slumberland on Friday November 9 at The Tote, Collingwood. To be released on the band's own label, Kiddiepunk Records, the long player was recorded in Chicago by Steve Albini, and mastered by John Golden.

Friday, 12th

Midnight Juggernauts, currently in North America touring with French dance duo Justice, have just been confirmed to support Germany's Digitalism across the United Kingdom throughout November. Whilst in Europe, the band will also make stops in Scotland, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Sweden, and Denmark, including gigs with Chk Chk Chk in London, Crystal Castles in Amsterdam, and Klaxons at the InRocks Festival in Paris. Cut Copy releases the single So Haunted on iTunes and limited edition vinyl on November 5. The single is taken from the band's forthcoming long player In Ghost Colours due for release in the first quarter of 2008. Coinciding with the single's release, the band will step out from the recording studio and onto the stage to play AWOL with Triple J in Burnie, Tasmania, followed by a limited selection of live dates across the east coast during November. Tuesday, 2nd

Mary Trembles head to the US this October to play year's CMJ Music Marathon in New York plus a handful of their own dates. Before then the band will be playing a benefit show to fund the US trip with Intercooler (also heading to the US) on Saturday October October 6 at The Step Inn, Brisbane. New Buffalo with her new album Somewhere, Anywhere now released in North America is preparing for her third tour of the United States and Canada this October. During the tour she will be performing with her Arts & Crafts label mates Stars and former Broken Social Scene founding member Kevin Drew.
