Dapplied Cities Fly release their new single, Peach, on March 1 thru Wash Records. Limited to only 200 hand-coloured and individually numbered copies, the single is the first offering from their forthcoming debut album, Make You Happy, produced by Jonathan Burnside and due out mid-year. In other news the band have signed a deal with New Zealand label, Arch Hill Recordings, that will see them release Wimbo Park - a collection of singles and B-sides from their two local offerings - in NZ on March 8.
Tobias Cummings launches his new single, Don't You Know?, on Thursday March 18 at the Empress Hotel. Joining him will be special guests Anthony Atkinson and The Underminers (ex-Dead Salesmen). The single is taken from his forthcoming debut EP, You Incomplete Me, recorded with Dave McCluney (Spencer P. Jones, Dan Kelly).

The Cornish Arms - 163A Sydney Rd, Brunswick - plays host to a huge benefit gig on Sunday February 22 to raise funds for a child battling a serious illness. Commencing at 1:30pm the event will feature performances by The Pheasant Pluckers, Andrew McCubbin, Monique Brumby, Ross Wilson, Renee Geyer, Charlie Marshall, Nick Barker, The Tulips, Kerri Simpson, Sally Dastey and Chris Wilson.
The John Butler Trio release their new studio album, Sunrise Over Sea, March 8 on Jarrah Records. The album sessions started in May last year at Melbourne's Woodstock studios with Nicky Bomba on drums and John's touring bassist, Shannon Birchall, playing double and electric bass and also co-arranging and conducting a string section on one track. Michael Barker, the group's current touring drummer, provides percussion. On the album's release the group will be touring the US as part of the South By South West Music Conference. A national tour of Australia is planned for June/July this year.

Brer Mouse are in the studio recording their new CD, the follow up to their debut EP of 2002. The recording is taking place at the Performing Arts Technology Unit at Adelaide Uni with the band self-producing. April sees the band touring Melbourne to play a handful of dates.
Bit By Bats have relocated from Adelaide to Melbourne but will be returning to Adelaide briefly to play with the Ground Components and Wolf And Cub on Saturday February 28 at The Jade Monkey. Their debut self-titled EP is out now on Architecture Records.

To raise money for their Comedy Festival production, the crew from 'Rockin' are holding a huge benefit show on Friday February 20 at the Pony, Melbourne. Gerard McCulloch and Michael Chamberlin head up the comedy contingent with music by Surrogate Turnip, Tim Reid, Sophie Koh and direct from Norway special guests, Nuclear Pussy, who are making their debut Melbourne performance. Sam Simmons and comedian Justin Kennedy kick off the night along with The Joint Chiefs Of Staff (3RRR/'The Pinch'). The night will be compered by Adam McKenzie.
Eskimo Joe release their new single, From the Sea, this March on Festival Mushroom Records. The single is the first taste of their forthcoming sophomore album, which the band have been busy recording with Paul McKercher and Nick Launay. The album is slated for a mid 2004 release accompanied by an extensive touring schedule.
The Rectifiers release their new EP, Levy, this March on Sensory Projects distributed by Inertia. The Push comes to the St Kilda Festival this Sunday February 8 with The Push Stage. Performing will be Tiltmeter, Dad's Army, The Flingers, Halitosis, Fortnight, The Nine Irons, Broken Alliance, The Namesake, None The Wiser, Latchkey and No Turning Back. The stage is located in Cavell St between Luna Park and the Palais Theatre, and provides a fully supervised, drug and alcohol-free zone for young people of all ages.

Superheist after ten years, two top 20 albums, five top 40 singles, have decided to call it a day. A best of album is currently in the works and will be due out in the near future. This will feature the best of the band's work from past releases as well as new and unreleased material and a bonus "live" album recorded at the Corner Hotel during the band's final home town performance.

Big Heavy Stuff release their fourth studio album, Dear Friends and Enemies, February 16 on Redline Records. The Waifs embark on an east coast tour this April, their last Australian shows for the year with the band due to tour the US followed by a well earned break. The dates - taking in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle and Byron Bay - will coincide with the release of the new single Bridal Train due out early April.
