Further play their first local show back from the UK on Friday June 20 at the Vic On The Park, Enmore. The show will be a double-headliner with Warped who are gearing up to tour the US. In early July the band will support Something For Kate and Death Cab For Cutie during their tour of Byron Bay, Gold Coast and Brisbane.
Deloris have finally finished their third album, recorded and mixed by Matt Voigt (Cat Power, Dirty Three) at Melbourne's Sing Sing Studios over the last year. The record is due out in a month or two through Quietly Suburban Records. To celebrate the band will return to the live scene at the end of June but not before a road-test of new songs this coming Wednesday June 4 at the Builders Arms, alongside Faker and Minor Ache.

Powderfinger release the single On My Mind in stores on June 16. B-sides on the single include band room demos, "Sweetness" and "On My Mind" together with a studio outtake entitled, "This Song Has Gone To Hell". The single is taken from their forthcoming album Vulture Street.

KZ5 have released their latest EP SUBWOOFA (in him) MkII on the new Melbourne label Generic Tadpole Records. The title track, 'Subwoofa' and 'One True Reality', were both featured in the comedy movie Fat Pizza. Distributed through MGM, the EP is now available in all good record stores.
Splendour In The Grass festival has officially sold out. There will be no further tickets for on site camping, weekend passes or individual day tickets for Saturday or Sunday. Purplene head over to Chicago, USA in August to record their new record with the Steve Albini. Whilst over there they will be taking a weeks break between recording and mixing to play some shows in a few eastern states. The as-yet untitled album is pencilled in for a October release, in the meantime their 4 track EP Songs From The Marketplace is out now through Quietly Suburban Recordings.

The John Butler Trio hit the road for a national tour entitled The Post Natal Expression Tour, which kicks off on July 9 and runs through until August 15 taking in major capital cities and some regional areas. FBi Radio 94.5FM is set to hit the airwaves on June 28, giving a voice to Sydney music, arts and culture. The station is committed to playing 50% Australian content - half of that coming from Sydney. Leading this year's nominations is Kasey Chambers with a tally of 5, followed by Silverchair with a total of 3 nominations. The awards consists of the categories Most Performed Australian Work, Most Performed Dance Work, Most Performed Jazz Work, Most Performed Country Work, Most Performed Foreign Work which are based on statistical analysis, plus the Song of the Year category which is voted upon by APRA members.
