Rock-It organisers have announced details for their 2004 event happening Sunday March 14 at Arena Joondalup, Western Australia. The Hard-Ons, following a tour of Europe, return to Sydney's stages early into the new year for a month long residency at the Surry Hills' Excelsior Hotel every Wednesday in January. Between these shows will be dates in Canberra, Caringbah, Wollongong, Newcastle and Baulkham Hills; these will probably be the band's last Australia shows for a quite some time. Further details »
Silo will be touring Brisbane in mid-Feburary; dates confirmed so far are Saturday February 14 at Ric's Bar, Fortitude Valley w/ Stag. Their yet to be named EP is expected to be released early 2004 on Melbourne based label Infidelity Recordings.
1200 Techniques release their second album Consistency Theory - the follow up to their ARIA winning debut - on January 12. The month of January will also see the group performing nationally as part of the 2004 Big Day Out.
GB3 aka Underground Lovers' Glenn Bennie launches his debut solo record, Circlework, on Friday January 16 at the Hopetoun Hotel. Joining Glenn for this, his first and only Sydney show, will be past and present Underground Lovers members including Philippa Nihill.

Playing Favourites, a new compilation put together by Illustrious Artists, will be launched on Saturday January 10 at the Hopetoun Hotel. Performing will be The Pictures, The City Lights, Steve and Nick of The Anyones, Mexico City, Neon, The Meek and The Holy Soul. Preceding the bands will be DJs and a BBQ kicking off at 5pm, with the first band gracing the state at 6pm. The compilation is available now through all good record stores.
Detour sees Channel V and Billabong join forces to combine the best elements of music and surf / skate culture in way of a double decker luxury touring coach and roadshow, which will travel the country in February. Tim Rogers & The Temperance Union release their forthcoming album, Spit Polish, in April on Festival Mushroom Records. The album - the follow up to Tim's debut solo effort of 1999, What Rhymes With Cars And Girls - was recorded and mixed at Yikesville with Shane O'Mara who has previously worked with Stephen Cummings, Chris Wilson, Rebecca’s Empire. The Temperance Union is made up of former The Twin Set bass player, Stuart Speed and drummer, Ian Kittney as well as Shane O’Mara on guitar.
Bit By Bats release their debut self-titled EP through the Architecture Label in January. On the live front the band will make an appearance on the Falls Festival main stage at midday on New Years Eve, and then back home to Adelaide to support Peaches.
The Cants release their debut EP, simply titled Extended Player, on Giant Claw this month. The EP features Complications and Buffet - taken from their limited edition debut 7" single - along with two new tracks, Alright and Binary Code. Arbuckle release their second EP, No Heroics, in February on NonZero Records distributed by Shock. The EP was recorded at Milk Bar Studios in Sydney over three days with close friend David McCormack taking charge of production and mixing, whilst Greg Wales engineered the seven track release. The band is planning a tour of Sydney and Melbourne in February to promote the release.

Addiction 64 release their new live recording, Trailer Park Princess. The recording was taken from October last year at the Corner Hotel when the band supported US act Goldfinger.
